This course is intended to provide a fundamental understanding of the basics of collision investigation of fire-related deaths. Investigative processes, important concerns, and basic medical terms are discussed.

This course consists of one (1) video lesson and will include an assessment at the conclusion of the lesson.

Credit: 1 hr.

 

Vehicle Collisions Involving Fire-Related Death

Lesson Purpose: This lesson is intended to provide the students with a fundamental understanding of the basics of collision investigation of fire-related death. Investigative processes, important concerns, and basic medical terms are discussed.

Training Objectives: At the end of this lesson, the student will be able to achieve the following objectives in accordance with the information received in class:


1. Understand the basic issues involved when investigating a collision that results in a fire-related death.
2. Understand how bodies burn, what they exhibit and what it means to your collision investigation.
3. Understand the medical examiner’s report so it can help with the collision investigation involving Fire-related deaths.
4. Determine if a victim was alive after the collision involving fire-related death.
